What's inside
Deep dive
Three tabs, each one complete. Here's what's inside each.
Most metronome apps use JavaScript's setTimeout for timing — which drifts under load. Practicer uses a lookahead scheduler: it schedules beats ahead of time through the audio engine, so the click is locked in before the CPU has a chance to stumble. The beat doesn't drift.
Most tuner apps are built for guitarists. Practicer uses autocorrelation-based pitch detection, which reads the fundamental frequency of any pitched instrument accurately — including singers, wind players, and strings. The pitch pipe and drone were added specifically because these players are underserved.
Load any audio file from your library — a band rehearsal, a song you're learning, your own practice recording — trim it down to the section you want to drill, and loop it with the metronome running on top. The metronome is visible at all times during recording and playback. No other app we know of does this properly.
